Hey remember a couple of months ago when everyone was doing the "7 weirdest things about me" tag, well I never did that and so I am going to attempt it now! Of course, I could go on and on and probably share WAYYYY too much info with you all, because my closest friends know a lot of weird things about me mainly due to my German background, but I don't think the world is ready to hear all of those!

1. It is impossible for me to do more then one thing at a time! If I'm watching TV and really paying attention I do not hear you if you are talking to me. I think I have to put my body into Auto pilot in order to walk and talk at the same time, I have always struggled with doing more then one thing, Lynette can attest to that, because she's always calling me out on it!

2. While it would be really sweet if I had Perfect Pitch, which just means you can produce any note accurately without the use of another instrument. I have always felt like I had pretty good relative pitch, and over the years I've become pretty good at picking out the harmonies in songs. I can't actually read music, so in choir I always kind of got by, with picking up my part by ear (pretty sad I know). I think this little harmony thing I do drives my friends crazy, because it never fails. . . once I venture away from the melody everyone gets thrown off! Sorry ladies but I can't help it, sometimes melodies are so boring!

3. In 6th grade I learned how to say the States in Alphabetical order, and to this day I still can!

4. A few years ago my right front tooth got chipped on a microphone when Michelle and I were Karaoking at the Porterhouse. I guess I was getting a little too into the song because I rammed the microphone right into my mouth, luckily it wasn't a huge chip, but it was a little jagged and so the next day I smoothed it out with a nail file. . . that's right I filed my own tooth down. . . . that's how I roll!

5. When ever I know I have to talk to somebody about something I almost always practice it before when I'm by myself or in my car. I will pretend I'm with that person and try to figure out the best way to deliver whatever it is that I have to tell them, it's crazy I know, but I've done it every since I was little!

6. I love to sing when I vacuum, it all started when I worked at Payless and got stuck cleaning while the other person counted the til, I did it mainly because I figured no one could hear me and it helped the time go by faster, and now I really enjoy it!

7. OK I guess I'll let one big secret outta the bag, I got a lot of german in my blood and as a result I've inherited that hairy European thing, so as result. . . . I totally shave my arms! It all started after High School when I had more then one person comment on how hairy my arms were, so I developed a little bit of a conscience about it, then one day when I was at BYU-I my Roomie Suzette convinced me to just shave them, and I did, and I have ever since!

Who can top those huh?

So I'm watching idol auditions Kansas City style right and this kid comes on and sings "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and I'm thinking to myself this kid is familiar. I recongnize his cartoon like vocalizations and facial expressions. He made it to Hollywood even though he is a bit of an over singer, but I will admit he does have a good voice, but I was expecting a few more comments about how over the top he was!

Anyway. . . . I'm sitting at work correcting papers and what not and all of a sudden it dawns on me wait a minute I know where I recognize that guy! He got made fun of on "The Soup" when Rosie O'donnell had him on The View singing "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going" which clip I just so happen to have here!








Rosie O'Donnell says quote ". . . .better then any of the singers on American Idol right now!"

We'll just have to see about that now won't we!


Also Congrat's to Von Lee Smith for being the first ever Idol contestant to be made fun of on The Soup before actually being on the show!

The girl that auditioned in her Bikini won't make it past the first cut guranteed! Plus she awkwardly tried to make out with Ryan seacrest which was reason enough to toss her anyway! I can almost promise you she has naughty pictures on the web! and they'll find them missy, they always do!

Most Likely To Get The First Boot! Or Kicked Off for a Shady Past!

I think this blind guy is gonna go far, and I have a feeling much like Melinda Doolittle he will do no wrong in the Judges eyes and he'll probably get the water works going!

Most Likely to Make Paula Cry

This next lady I don't have a prediction for, i just have A place in my heart for her, i mean she takes care of her hard of hearing 90 sum year old Grandmother and so she is someone I'm keeping my eye on. I like her story and I think she's a good example of what the competition is all about! I hope she goes far!

What has two thumbs and is excited American Idol Starts Tomorrow?

THIS GIRL!!!!!!

I won't go into details about how much I love Idol, I just wanna say you should all expect plenty of commentary from me for the next couple of months!





With that said. My good blogging buddy Tameka had a wonderful idea that I was super excited to steal! (check Her blog out it's pretty sweet, there's a link on my sidebar T. Allen Mercado)



For her Shutter, Click and Chat Sundays she has a wonderful topic every week, and you are supposed to put together pictures and post them on your blog and explain the purpose behind the photo, this week was "What outfit and song would you choose that is sure to send you to Hollywood?

You know I'm all over that!

The only thing is I'm a blue and horribly indecisive so I picked 4 outfits and 4 songs and you all feel free to vote on which one you think would definately get me a golden ticket and have me screaming. . . . I'm going to Hollywood Baby!!!!!


There's nothing I love more then cute dresses and shoes!

You know they are always looking for something edgy! Perhaps if I put on my best rock face, then I could wear this. . . . . . . .

Guns-n-Roses- "Sweet Child of Mine" would be my song of choice, Now I know what you are thinking Axle Rose in his prime. . . . really? But sometimes you have to take chances. . . .right? and this song is pretty rockin'. . . .don't be too harsh on this choice!

I think Katherine McPhee said her tip for auditioning was wear something simple. I suppose that's good advice, because really in the end it's not about your outfit, it's about your voice, well I think I could make things simple. . . . .some what, but it has to be cute still, so this is what I came up with.

This ensemble is a throwback to the 70's is it not, and what better voice to take from that era then Steve Perry from Journey with my Favorite song by them "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'"

Or finally if I wanted to really show my diva side I would rock this little number!

And blow it outta the park with a diddy like this!

As I was trudging through all the ice water ponds on my way to class today, I was really longing to be somewhere warmer and a little less soggy!

The weather has been so crazy and normally I'm not a big complainer about what's happening outside, but the last two months have been hard to enjoy with the below freezing temperatures, icy roads, and the massive amounts of snow I have to continually clean off my car, and it doesn't help that I've been longing for a vacation something fierce!

I was thinking about my trip to Mexico I took with my friends back in '04 and how much I'd love to be back there right now lounging by the pool at Happy Hour double fisting my virgin Margaritas!

Does anyone else have the crappy weather blues????

Well I don't have anything to cure that, but I do have a distraction.

I have of course some highlights from one of the funnest/warmest trips I've ever taken. . . . may this take you to a good place and help you forget about your cold feet for at least 5 minutes!




We met some local celebrities. . . . mainly Two Mexican guys that looked exactly like the rapper Mos Def, and Wilmer Valderrama aka F.E.S from That 70's Show.

And I've said it for a long time, but if ever in my life I feel like apostatizing from the Church, I'm moving to Mexico and marrying the first drunk man that hits on me, because let me tell you I'm kind of the Belle of the Ball there.

Pictured on top here is my Vato from LA, apparently his Jersey costs $300 dollars, and he wasn't trying to get with me, these things he kept assuring me all while getting way to close and personal for my taste!

I got a some ink, and my hair in braids!

We went on what was called a Jungle tour. . . . (PS there was no jungle just a lot of mangroves) And our Tour Guide who we dubbed the "Bird Whisperer" summoned every pelican in North America and landed them on our boat. This is Mindi and I getting an up close a personal look!

By far one of the fondest memories was us girls serenading our pulmania driver with "I wanna know what love is" when it came across the radio. Pictured below are a few other special moments we shared.

Has anyone noticed the twin epidemic that is swiffering the World of Hollywood right now?

I mean obviously there has been a baby boom in the biz! Many a Celebutant is rocking the baby bump like it's the coolest thing since velour track suits and Ugg boots.

But have you noticed how many of them have ended up being sets of twins?

Here's a little time line for you. . . .

I think Julia Roberts started things off in 2004 when she gave birth to her twins Phinnaeuus and Hazel

Not to be outdid, Diddy (Sean Combs) in 2006 with his then Fiance Kim Porter had little baby girl twins named. . . get this

D'Lila Star and Jessie James (apparently named after their grandparent's)

Elvis Costello and Diana Krall that same year had Twin boys named Dexter Henry Lorcan and Frank Harlem James

Marcia Cross and Hubby Tom Mahoney welcomed Twin girls's Eden and Savannah early 2007

Then of course Patrick Dempsey comes along with Twin boys Darby and Sullivan

In '08 things start to get crazy. . . . . .

You got J. Lo and Marc Anthony with Twins Max and Emme

The most famous of the bunch the Jolie-Pitt twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline

And even though I could not find an image to prove it Lisa Marie Presley gave birth to two twin girls named Finley and Harper in October.

And Ricky Martin (who we will be discussing later!)

Had twin boys named Valentino and Matteo

But just when you thought we where done. There's Charlie Sheen and his Girlfriend Brooke Mueller as well as Rebbecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell made announcements last year that they are expecting twins sometime in the next few months!

I mean call me crazy but I was under the impression having twins was not all that common.

And Twins in Hollywood. . . . weren't the Olsen twins holding their own for a while there? It wasn't until Zack and Cody came along that they started to get a run for their money!

Every time I turn around someone else is on the cover of people with two babies in there hands!

How crazy!

Now, let's talk about Ricky Martin. . . . . .

Ricky Martin has been making women swoon since he started Puberty, and has only gained more and more female followers as the years have pressed on. . . . I mean look at him he is a fine specimen of a man! Now you'd think that such an attractive, successful, and sensitive male would have no trouble finding a woman to settle down and start a family with?

Well it's either tougher then we think or He just doesn't like Women because Ricky is flying solo and playing Mr. Mom (no nannies mind you) with his Twin boys that he had via a Surrogate Mother.

You may remember Clay Aiken pulling a similar stunt this last year announcing that he was going to be a Daddy with his best friend Jaymes Foster sister of David Foster (one of the masterminds behind the careers of Celine Dion and Andre Buchelie) She was artificially inseminated, and a few months after the baby was born, Clay comes out of the closet!

Can anyone out there name me one heterosexual male that wants babies more then he wants a woman?. . . . . .If not, I rest my case.

And really I have no choice but to contribute this scenario to my list of "Ways I Know You're Gay"

I'm gonna sandwich that one right in between "You can sing every song from the musical Wicked" and "You own a mesh shirt"

Awe Ricky. . . . .why are the cute/nice ones always Gay????

I went back and read my first post about my News Resolutions and here's a little recap for you.



Emily's Resolutions for 2008-



1. Lose the chins!
2. Keep on top of my music studies
3. Kiss more boys
4. Move out of my Parent's House



Emily's Accomplishments for 2008-



1. Lost 10 pounds gained 15 (2nd chin expanded)
2. All I can tell you is that the key of Bb has 5 flats. . . . that's about it
3. The beginning of the year looked promising, but gusto for this resolution fizzled out and I went back to being a big fat prude!
4. Yeah I actually did this one!



But all that's in the past! It is now currently 2009 and the Year is my Proverbial Oyster. . . . what ever that means!



I have compiled a new set of resolutions for 09' and they are as follows




RESOLUTION #1-

Grow Up!

It's now time for me to make more adult decisions, I have relied on my family and friends to take care of me for a while now and it's time I started living more independently. I'm going to make wiser choices with my money, and start planning ahead instead of living moment to moment, holding to my word not only when I make promises with others, but with myself also. I will however not stop ordering Hi C if and when I eat at McDonald's! Sorry Angie!







RESOLUTION #2-

Get My Chords Whipped into Shape!

So apparently your vocal chords are just like any other muscle in your body, they need to be stretched and warmed up in order to function properly. I've been neglectful of a lot of physical things in the past, but my voice box especially took a back seat last year, and it's time to get it healed, because I really miss being able to sing and even talk normally. I signed up to be in the Jazz ensemble at Big Bend and I'm hoping that being in Choir again will help me with this quest. And help me find out if it's not just the fact that I haven't been practicing. It's time to figure out the problem and fix it, because this world with out singing is not my favorite!











RESOLUTION #3-

I'm Headed for a Heartache!

I've been taught my whole life the importance of Opposites in all things, and just like you must know cold to know hot, or ugly to appreciate beauty, you can't know love without loss! This year I'm in the market for a Heartbreak, just so I know how it feels and then maybe appreciate real love when it comes my way! Not to mention the greatest songs, books and movies where made from having your heart broken, and I wouldn't mind having that kind of muse if something great came from it. . . . we will see!

Lastly. . . .

RESOLUTION #4-

"Esse Quam Videre"

To be rather than to appear

I don't wanna be a person about appearances, This year I'm going to work on doing things because it's the right thing and not because of what I think people will think of me!

Nuff said!

Oh and thanks for reading and commenting this past year I have continually been uplifted by all of your messages and words of support, say what you will about what blogging has done to us socially, but I know I have gained a lot from this whole blogging experience and am excited for what's to come here on mine and all of your blogs as well!
