"They're All Gonna Laugh at You!" - Crazy Mom from Carrie

As you know I'm a nut for themed parties, and as the dance committee head hancho I take it upon myself to offer as many dress up dances as I possibly can! This month I decided we should have our very own "Mock Prom". Not that I generally like stealing ideas from Ashlee Simpson, but that was what planted a seed in my head.

Gwenny just got called to be the activity chair person, and was pretty excited to get this party rolling! Which could possibly not be so good for the budget, to have her and I on the same committee, because if there's one thing Gwen and I know how to do. . . . it's spend money!

But non the less after weeks of preparation, and planning it all came together, and surprisingly enough they re-inbursed us for all our purchases. . . . yes even the louge and beta fish! And even though it was a smaller group then I expected, we all still managed to have a good time. Here's some pictures Severin and I captured through the night. Sister Bailey took some as well. So I will try to post those later, but enjoy!

This was our theme for the night, it was either this or "Under the Sea", they both topped the list for cheesiest Prom Themes.

Big thanks to Gwen's credit card for the crowns and septer's, and Gwen's mad ironing and puff painting for the sashes and the display was masterfully put together by Miss Lynette

Sarah Bryant who I am Dubbing "old faithful" constructed this back drop, she pieced it together herself, and made the bouquets for the Prom Queen court. This is Gwen and Severin looking fabulous as you can tell. Real men rock sparkly pants that's all I have to say. Big shout out to Gwen's Mom for the amazing jewelry and hairdo tips through the years, and MAJOR!! thanks to Janet Berguson for providing dance costumes for Severin and Amber.

Yes that's right, thanks to my nice tax return (thank you Uncle Sam), and in honor of Michelle's birthday we hit up "The Happiest Place on Earth!" and I found out first hand that it really is the just that!




Prior to the trip Angie and I decided my goal was to take as many pictures with characters as I could. . . . so here are a few famous people I met while gallavanting around the park!

Here are my Top Ten Favorite Things/Moments @ Disneyland



1. Dole Whip (Pineapple frozen yogurt)- apparantly there's only 3 places you can get this tasty treat. Disneyland, Disneyworld, and Hawaii. Which means I might be making more trips to those places, because seriously. . . . .so delicious! P.S. the pineaple speer was equally as fantastic!




2. Space Mountain- I'm not the biggest fast ride fan, but this one was amazing! I really almost felt like I was in space!


3. Frank the Portrait Guy- This guy gave me an extreme makeover and gave me a little peak into what I would look like if I had Lypo, collagen injections, teeth whitening, and a killer boob job!!! Oh and maybe a neck extension (Do they do those?)











4.Pirates of the Caribbean- This was my favorite ride! It had adventure, fun, and a little fright. Visually, this ride was superb! Plus, pirates are so hot right now!









5.Clam Chowder in a bread bowl- The chowder at Disneyland could be the creamiest, tastiest thing I ever ate, I will continue to dream of how good that stuff was!









6. Soarin' Over California- This ride actually makes you feel like you are gliding over the sunshine state itself!!!! So much that you even smell it! The inventor of this ride was a genious!









7. The Firework display- For those of you who have attended the Malelucha 4th of july firework show in Idaho Falls, I'm here to tell you you have been lied too! Largest Firework display this side of the Mississippi. . . . .HOPPYCOCK!. . . .I mean POPPYCOCK! I have never ooh'd and aah'd over something so much! It was SPECTACULAR!









8. Lunch and a Show at the Golden Nugget? (Angie,what was the name of that saloon?)- Who knew fiddle players where so funny! I think we all where very entertained, and the chili cheese fries weren't half bad either!

10. Doing random things with my Girls- It doesn't really matter where we go, I swear Angie comes up with the funnest games and random things to do to keep us entertained! Even though our feet and backs hurt, we where sleep deprived, and grumpy at times, we still managed to have a good time even when we where parked on the wall freezing to death waiting for the firework show, or waiting in line for almost every ride. Or even on the airplane. . . .I'm still waiting for Southwest to call us and book us for in flight entertainment! I just really love that no matter what we do or where we are, we always laugh and make memories! Michelle always down for whatever, laughs at even the lame jokes, and sees both sides when we there is a conflict! Lynette always willing to be my travel buddy, and always making sure I have everything I need, or I don't for get something. (And thanks for being willing to ride the crazy rides with me!) Then of course Ang! You where our Travel Agent/Tour Guide/ entertainment and not to keep it cliche' but we can't do it without you!


I love my ladies. . . .you guys are my BFF's fo sho' and I wouldn't trade our good times for anything!. . . . . well maybe a husband!!! Jokes Jokes!!!







All in all, the trip was awesome, and everything I hoped it would be! I hope someday everyone can experience the Magic that is Disneyland, if you haven't already!!

Oh Brother Lybbert! Two years ago this is what he came dressed up as, for our Halloween Dance! He built his own outhouse costume. . . . .now that's commitment! This is Michelle dancing with him, not knowing he's inside!

Even though this Halloween wasn't as eventful as the former, we still rocked amazing costumes like it was nobodies business!!!! First off Michelle hand made her headress (her and angie even died the feathers!) Nette's hair was fabulous, plus she was handy with the craft glitter and glue gun herself! Then there was Angie always pulling something amazing together, even if she sacrificed some of Michelle's hair in the process, and I was a Nun and we went to the bar. . . .I mean you just don't get funnier then that!!!

Here's the story behind this picture, We went on a picture scavenger hunt for Family Home Evening (FHE) and while snapping pictures at Walmart, we stumbled upon a lady sitting in the racks breast feeding her child. REALLY LADY, Really? You couldn't find a more convenient place to feed your baby. . . .You said no I must do this here, in the toy aisle, with lots of people around!!! So WEIRD!!! But of course we attempted to take a picture, thanks Gwenny!

I've been in singles ward for a good 6 years now, and it has been fairly common to have stuff going on every night of the week with the ward. It seems more lately we've been not as social. . . . .or maybe I've just haven't put forth as much effort as I used too, either way Nette and I decided we needed to get ourselves back in the game and make sure people are aware of how cool we really are. So we sorta talked it out with some people mainly Gwenny and Ellarey to see how they felt about having some kind of gathering every Wednesday night. They where all for it. And Gwenny and Nette decided to dub it our very own "Finer Things Club" night!





I don't know if any of you saw the episode of The Office where Pam, Tobey, and Oscar started this, but because mostly all of us are huge Office fans, we all thought it fitting especially since we do things like this. . . . . .

We also watched American Idol. . . . .(anyone else excited the auditions are over?) So all an all I think we really stuck to our theme well. . . .I don't think you can make classier choices then what we did! Maybe next week we'll have Hot Dogs and wrestle with pigs, Huh?

I know MJ's been out of the spot light for a while and it's kind of random for me to talk about, but just recently I've discovered all over again how much I really love Michael's music, and it seems to me there are some amazing jams that most people have never heard before. Say what you will about his personal life. . . . .the man was a musical genius (last I checked Beethoven didn't have the cleanest record!). And as a result has some of the most well known and recognized tunes in the world (ie Phillipino inmates re-inacting thriller). But here are some of my most favorite not as famous Michael Jackson songs. . . . . . .Prepare to jam!

1. PYT (Pretty Young Thing)-

It wasn't until recently, WHEN ANGIE TOLD ME IT WAS HER FAVORITE! I never even heard of this song, but apparently it's a lot of people's jam! This song is up beat and rhythmic, and most importantly makes me wanna dance. I just wish it had a signiture dance move to go a long with it, also does anyone know the exact definition of Tenderoni? This song makes reference to that word and I really wanna know what that is!! Also little known fact this song is sampled in Kanye West's hit "Good Life", listen for it, it's hard to pick up on!

2. The Girl is Mine, Duet with Paul McCartney-

Even though they aren't buddies anymore because Michael kinda screwed him over, I think they made a fantastic duo. Also another little known fact the first time I ever heard this song was when Blake Lewis Performed it with the acapella group Kickshaw before he was famous,loved his version (also because the other guy that sang it with him was ADORABLE, but I don't remember his name!) I like it, it's a catchy tune and even though the dialogue in the song is a little corny, it's still a great song!

3. Butterflyz-

If you've ever worked in a mall or some kind of retail establishment that uses the sound system Muzak, or watched the season of American Idol when Ace Young sang it (but adorably butchered it!) Then you've most likely heard this song! I believe this track can be found on Michael's comeback album, but i don't know if it was ever released, because the only time I ever heard it was at the above mentioned places. But it's worth checking out, mainly because his Falsetto is nothing short of impressive, and you can tell those nose jobs are really working for him!

5. Ease on Down the Road-

This song is from the musical "The Wiz" aka the BET version of Wizard of Oz. Michael Jackson plays the scarecrow and Diana Ross plays Dorothy and i've never actually seen the show, but if this song is any indication of how good it is then i should have checked it out by now! Anyway this song is probably my most favorite out of all I just mentioned. I like it's message and i especially love the beat!

"Close Every Door To Me" -Donny Osmond

Funny story!. . . . .about a month ago I was late to sacrament meeting as usual and I missed the opening announcements. So Lynette, like usual, filled me in on what they said. She informed me that the stake was putting on a production of Joseph and The Amazing Techni-Color Dream Coat, and then asked me if I was trying out.

I immedialtely got way pissed and was like, heck no I'm not trying out! What part could I possibly play! That's a show full of dudes! And then proceeded to rant about how much I hate it when they pick a show with a majority male cast. They did it at BYUI when I was there. They did this show called "The Fantastics" which is an all male cast except for one girl, of course they made one non speaking role originally intended for a boy into a girl, but totally beside the point!

I was all excited and I had been working for a month in advance on my monologue and song, I did a scene from "The Importance of Being Earnest" and I sang Big, Blonde, and Beautiful from Hairspray. Now I know for a fact I nailed that song, maybe the monologue was a little iffy, but I gave a great prepared audition! Then about a day before, My good buddy John Walker decides he wants to particpate. So he throws together this audition piece, we perform back to back. Now I Love John to pieces, but I think he would even admit to you my audition was better than his! And that lucky shmuck got in and not me!!!! Granted he did dominate at the actual performances, but that's not the point. I didn't get in because I don't have a Y chromosome, and i'm not a soprano, which you had to be in order get the one girl part!

So annoying, I mean especially when theatre programs are highly populated with female participants! Then you end up having to practicaly beg guys to help out and there never as good as the girls, and they get lead roles!!!! I mean it's just ridiculous! It litarelly makes me want to punch people in the face!

Anywho, last week when Nette and I where making weekend plans she reminded me of the meeting for the musical, and asked if I wanted to swing by the Stake center on our way out of town. Well I was like there really isn't any point, in that show I could be the Narrator which is the lead female role (also Soprano) or Potipher's wife, in case you aren't familiar with the story Potipher's wife trys to seduce Joseph and when he doesn't comply, frames him for trying to lie with her! And I'm pretty sure it's mandatory for her to have long legs and be smokin' hot. . . . once again all things I'm not! Not too mention, this is a stake function which means I'm pretty sure they've already cast Shawna Roylance or Jasmine Turner as the lead or flying Kjirsti Peterson in specially for the show and there was positively no way I could beat any of those ladies out for that part. So I decided fine I can help out, and be in the backround(LAME!)

Friday before the meeting, Nette, Aubri, and I had "appeteazers" at Michael's and we ran into Jasmine Turner. She asked me if I was auditioning, and I gave her my schpeal. She told me I should just do it anyway, and they where going to split the narrator role. So I left still skeptical, but my spirits where lifted.

Saturday morning roles around and guess what Shawna and Valarie Roylance talk to me and inform me that they are directing the show (that's one out of the way) and they said they had the cast pretty much already picked out before the meeting! And then after I gave them the same shpeal I gave everyone else, they mentioned that it was ok that I didn't sing high enough, and they where thinking Suzette Michie and I could split the part and she could cover the hard stuff. But Suzette was no dice because she's at BYU. (That's another one that totally dominates me outta the way)!

Well I was flabbergasted that had previously thought of me and actually considered me to do the show I was gonna completly ride off! It pretty much made my day!

Then this last Saturday was the actual audition, and I guess there was seven people who where interested in being the narrator, but 2 didn't show up, and 2 ladies thought it was a speaking part, so we ended up not having to audition at all, they just decided to split the part three ways!


So I'm proud to say that I will be sharing the role of Narrator with Jasmine Turner, and Melanie Moody (My former voice teacher). Now I feel like a big jerk face for talking all that smack about the show, and I ended up being in it any way and not in the background!

See what happens when you complain! The performances are the end of March. . . .and I seriously can't wait! I haven't done a show for 5 yrs, so I may be a little rusty, but I'm ready to get my Joseph on!!!!

As most of you know I heart Dancing! It's one of my most favorite things to do. I'm kinda known for my willingness to bust a move anytime, any where, any place! Last night was no exception.

I was just hanging with my Girls over at Angie's new house and our friend Cruz stopped by. Cruz likes random dance parties too. He is pretty masterful at the pelvis roll! It's very Chip N Dale's! Cruz and I have attempted to battle several times, but it usually ends up with just me dancing and him giving us all instructions on how to do his one signature move. That's why we call him OTP, aka One Trick Pony!

Last night, to my surprise he switched it up, and showed me how to do some break dance moves. Now i'm not one to brag, but I think I pretty much dominated. . . . .see for yourself
